3 Billion Seconds VAULTS Festival, Little theatre festival, Painesplough Roundabout, Wilton's Music hall

"When it comes to the 3 F words. Food. Fuel. And Freshwater. We are fucked. Fucked. And fucked. And we are getting more fucked, the more fucking, people are doing."

Directed by Bethany Pitts (Fuck You Pay Me, VAULT 2018, People's Choice Award), 3 Billion Seconds is a funny, macabre love story.

Population Matters activists Daisy and Michael want to save the world. And all they want you to do is not have a baby. Do you know that a baby born in Britain today will live an estimated 3 billion seconds? And be responsible for 160 times the greenhouse gas emissions as a baby born in Ethiopia? They do. Daisy and Michael know a lot of things about population. But now they are pregnant. And they don't know what to do. How can you offset 3 billion seconds of life?

Directed by Tatty Hennessy,  staring Katy Stephen's and Emma Fielding

A thousand people. Meeting each other. Making friends. Having babies. Sharing their lives.

But whether they know it or not, they all share something else: the same father.

Maud Dromgoole's play Mary's Babies is inspired by the true story of Mary Barton and her husband Bertold Wiesner, pioneers of fertility treatment, who used Bertold's sperm to artificially inseminate up to a thousand women, before destroying the evidence.

This provocative, funny and fascinating play imagines a series of encounters between the half-siblings, known as the 'Barton Brood'.

'A remarkable story... With humour and tenderness, [Dromgoole] questions how we define ourselves and the significance of the relationship between identity and genetic parentage... Dromgoole proves herself a writer of calibre and potential'

BritishTheatre.com

'Dromgoole's written the kind of jokes your mind wanders back to after you've left the theatre because they are so genius' A Younger Theatre

'An entertaining and very sensitive handling of a topic that goes straight to the core of our identity' The Reviews Hub

I AM NOT A PERSON. I OFFER YOU NO JUDGEMENT. I AM A TOOL, FOR YOU.

Robots improve our lives everyday. They makes us more efficient and more self sufficient, but at what cost? How does living amongst them change the way we interact with each other? How do they change our friendships? Our parenting? Our sex lives? Rosa, our psychologist, Ursula, our prostitute and Richard our heart surgeon are all real technological developments; this play explores how we might learn to live with them.

‘My only quibble is that Acorn isn’t long enough…Full of humour, both acerbic and sweet, and it will definitely make you think twice about the stories you tell your daughters.’             Claire Roderick –FairyPoweredProductions

‘Dromgoole’s script unfurls expertly… She has a deft hand, and guides her audience through the disjointed narrative with clarity and grace… Acorn is an indication of great things to come from an exciting team of young and irrepressible female artists.’                               Gillian Greer – Exuent

Positively boils over with charm and humour a... laugh out loud funny, swooping from seemingly nonsensical chatter to dark and thought provoking poignancy...  A real triumph’         Alex Foot – West End Wilma
